Salone del Mobile in Milan has always been a stage for the newest and coolest furniture designs and projects from around the world. Sustainable design is possibly the best trend from the event; however, there has also been focus on nature and human wellbeing at this year’s exhibition.
The 2022 Milan Design Week has certainly showcased a plethora of creative products from small as well as big brands but the nature-inspired products have stolen the show. Here, take a look for yourself:
Colonies Series by Gionata Gatto
The Coloniae series designed by Italian designer Gionata Gatto for JCP Universe tries to create a relationship between human and nature. It comprises vases and table that let plants create a colony in their pre-defined structure.
The plants help in designing the vase as well as the table with its outgrowing branches and roots. Over time, plants entangle the object and gives it a whole new appearance. The Coloniae series provides a cool new way to bring nature into your home.
Goz Rugs by Kengo Kuma
Woven with wood and pure wool, these rugs designed by Kengo Kuma for Goz celebrate natural materials in their raw form and also encourage sustainable design. The wood sticks woven along with the fabric are visible, which makes the rugs more special for people who appreciate nature and its essence in design.
WOODGREEN Garden Bench by Hobby Flower
Emiliana Design studio wanted to help people bring nature into their homes by combining plant pots with furniture. Woodgreen is a garden bench that comes integrated with a planter on one side. It’s structurally metal and wood, which makes it durable and eye-pleasing.
Kreoo Pave Stones
The Pave seating collection designed by Enzo Berti for Kreoo tries to use natural materials in an organic way. Made from marble, the seating resembles pebbles found on the river beds. The pebbles are generally round in shape because of the water’s Midas touch.
The flowing water smoothens and polishes the rocks to form nature’s unique artwork. These minimalist marble seats are perfect to allow a riverside feel to your home.
Bulbo by Louis Vuitton
Bulbo designed by Campana Brothers is a classy nest that looks like a wonderful tropical flower. It embraces the sitter like a cocoon thanks to each of its layered petals lined with Louis Vuitton leather on the outside and warm fabric on the inside.
Part of Louis Vuitton’s Objet Nomade series, Bulbo is designed as a stylish and cozy chair that can accommodate one person or even two. It is created for human wellbeing and should suit any modern home’s interior.
