Air Jordan 7 (VII) Retro Cardinals White / Black – Cardinal Red – Bronze – All you Need to Know | Curated Mint

With the use of the rich cardinal red, matched with the soft white leather and gold detailing, the Air Jordan Cardinals showcase modern luxury at its best.

The Air Jordan 7 have come in a range of colour ways since its initial release in 1992. There’s been some increasingly vibrant designs, from the artistic Miro model to more subdued, versatile models. With each Air Jordan 7 maintaining the solid build, air sole unit and neoprene features, as well as Nike Huarache technology, you can pretty much guarantee that every one is as long lasting as the next, despite their differences in appearance.

The evolution of the technology used in the Air Jordans is revealed in their rich history, with various features from other models being used to improve future designs, making the Air Jordan 7 a successful mix of style and practicality. With so many colour ways sometimes it’s the simplest ones that stand out the most, and a few accents here and there are enough to pull a look together. The Cardinal Jordan 7s have the best of the Jordan 7 technology, while keeping things versatile with their clean white look and subtle colour detailing.

Air Jordan 7 Cardinal

The Cardinal 7 makes a statement with its pure white upper made from smooth as well as textured leather, completed with matching white laces and subtle cut outs. This white upper is complemented by a black rubber sole that’s accentuated with mountain-like red and white accents. To the side of the shoe is the iconic Jumpman logo in a solid gold, with a matching gold strap at the back for easy wear.

A striking triangular red, black and white 23 sits at the back of the shoe, creating a neat, streamlined back that creates a similar look to the rubber accents. To help texturise the white upper, there’s a neat scattering of air holes, perfectly places to create a comfortable fit as well as a stylised look. The sole features a zigsaw-like collection of angular shapes that gives a less uniformed finish and adds a subtle flash of colour.

Key Drop Variations

Of course, with every popular Nike release comes a good amount of re-releases to keep things fresh. With the Cardinals being such a timeless colour way it’s hard to find a time where they wouldn’t fit in, and getting a 2006 and 2011 re-release under their belt wasn’t a difficult task.

The 2006 design made no changed whatsoever to the original design, maintain the same colour scheme, patterning and design features to ensure it was as faithful to the classic model as possible.

Jordan 7 Cardinal – 2011

Not too long after the 2006 release was another one, with Nike picking up that fans really didn’t want a lot messed around with the colour way and overall design. With the phrase ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ running true, the 2011 design stayed pretty much identical to the previous two.
