Ready for another blast from the past? Nike are re-releasing the Nike Air Max BW OG in the original 1991 colourway Persian Violet.
It’s been 25-years since we first saw the Tinker Hatfield BW “Big Window” surface. This was the trainer that dominated the UK in the 90’s, so for any sneakerhead it doesn’t need much of an introduction. Everyone has that “when I first got my Air Max BW…” story. So if you’re feeling nostalgic pick up a pair come the drop date.
The Nike Air Max BW OG Persian Violet
Borrowing from the 1991 release, Nike returns to the original colourway. The ultra version of the Air Max BW OG was released later in the year and is updated for comfort with extra cushioning.
- Multi-density foam upper provides structure and comfort
- Visible Max Air heel unit for cushioning
- Injected unit sole doubles as an outsole for lightweight comfort
- Cored-out outsole reduces the weight of the shoe
- Waffle pattern with rubber at the heel and toe enhances traction
- Perforations enhance breathability
Drop Date :
29th July 2016
Nike’s revolutionary Air-Sole unit made its way into Nike footwear in the late ’70s. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 debuted with visible air in its heel, allowing fans more than just the feel of Air-Sole comfort — suddenly they could see it. Since then, next-generation Nike Air Max shoes have become a hit with athletes and collectors by offering striking colour combinations and reliable, lightweight cushioning.
Key Drop Variations
Nike Air Max BW Marina Blue
Now if you know your Air Max history then you’ll know this is also part of the original pack drop of 1991. This pair hasn’t been retro’d in its 25-year life span. Until Now! The Marina Blue colourway is back again for the first time, back by popular demand! There was even a Facbook page set up campaigning for their release.
Nike Air Max BW Denim
The most premium drop yet we have the denim colourway. A merge of denim and premium suede with tonal laces make this colourway extra special.
